Whether singing and dancing in a multimedia musical revue, appearing in an original film on the silver screen, or recording a song in a professional sound studio, SFCMT participants and families enjoy a unique experience with big production value for a limited time commitment. Unlike most productions that offer a handful of parts with leading characters, our one of a kind shows are custom created for each cast, allowing us to give everyone opportunities for singing, speaking and dancing roles. Our convenient week program with one rehearsal per week, makes participation in SFCMT productions fun and easy for busy Bay Area families.

We focus on empowering young people and ensuring their voices are valued and heard, through a creative and safe environment. Our emphasis is on creative engagement and sparking the imagination, whilst developing theatre making and performance skills, both onstage and off. We run weekly drama and musical theatre classes and holiday projects for children and young people agedand opportunities to be involved in performance, directing and technical theatre.
We make work in response to Playhouse shows, commission new plays for young audiences, and develop theatre making and performance skills. Leeds Playhouse Youth Theatre aims to open out our buildings and resources to young people, as well as open up creative opportunities for emerging theatre and performance makers. Through a collaborative process of making theatre, the Playhouse Youth Theatre produces work that responds to the lives of young people and recognises their talent.
Registration for classes is now available. Classes begin in September With practice, anyone can gain the presentation skills and confidence to act, sing, or dance onstage.
Through powerful, hilarious and fun vignettes, we explore times of radical change in history, the context of cultural change, changes in the family unit, social awareness, wars… and our humanity. The Porch Light is on. It is time to come home.
The Rose produces several teens-only shows each season, where teen participants are given opportunities to act, direct, write, design and stage manage. There is no cost to participate and the program is open to all interested students. Please note the audition schedule for each show.
